Iraq Adopts 11th Edition of the Nice Classification in 2025

BAGHDAD – The Iraqi Trademark Office has announced through its social media channels that it will adopt the 11th edition of the Nice International Classification, starting January 2025.

This change will be a shift from the current system; and the 11th edition will be applied to all new filings, starting from January 1, 2025.

It is important to note that the adoption of the 11th edition will not affect trademarks that are already filed and/or registered in Iraq. However, owners of prior registrations may ask for their trademarks to be reclassified accordingly.
