Kuwait Launches First Phase of .KW Registration

KUWAIT – The Kuwait Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has announced the launching of the first phase of the National Domain (.kw) registration service, known as the Sunrise Period.

Starting September 23, 2024, all government agencies, registrants who have obtained the third extension (.com.kw, .net.kw, .org.kw) and trademark owners will be able to register domain names under the national extension (.kw). Following this, all parties may register for the second phase, known as the "Land Rush Period," which will last for 6 months and will require a specific amount of money.

The third phase, known as the "General Availability," will be open to all parties, with a lower registration fee than the second phase.
