General

4.1 Domain Names Format:

4.1.1 A domain name needs to contain a minimum of 3 characters and up to 24 alpha-numeric characters per name within the sets (a…z), (0…9).

4.1.2 Special characters such as a hyphen (-) are not allowed as first or last character.

4.1.3 Domain names must not contain words, phrases or abbreviations that are obscene, scandalous, indecent, or contrary to the Palestinian law.

4.1.4 A registered domain name does not confer any legal right or ownership to that name. It simply represents a technical label to be used on the Internet.


a. The name can’t be any of the generic Top Level Domain names (edu, gov, com, net, org, mil …etc) or the ccTLD of a country or any of the Palestinian chartered domain names (edu, gov, plo, com, net, org, sec…etc).

b. Premium names are generic words and phrases .ps domain names that are registered at prices higher than the standard annual fee unless the domain name is a Trademark or Service mark of the applicant, in this case, a proof of ownership or legal rights to the name is required.

4.2 Domain Names Conflicts:

4.2.1 Any disputes over the rights to use a particular domain name are to be settled between the contending parties using normal legal methods. AGIP exempts itself from all responsibility for the verification of rights to a name. AGIP cannot act as an arbitrator of disputes arising out of this kind of conflict.

4.2.2 AGIP will not be liable for any interruption of business, or any indirect damages of any kind (including losses of profits) or otherwise.

4.2.3 AGIP may suspend registration of a pending application for a disputed domain name in case of a conflict with another pending application or an already registered domain name until the conflicting registrants present a signed and written settlement of the conflict.

4.2.4 Acceptance of an application and registration of a domain name by AGIP does not endorse approval or support to submitted names of natural or legal identities, trade names or trademarks.

4.3 Transferring a Domain Name:

Once registered or reserved to an entity domain names are non-transferable unless the said entity is bought out or merges with another entity. If an entity is dissolved, the domain names owned by that entity will be reallocated.

4.4 Deleting a Registered Domain Name:

4.4.1 To delete an active or inactive registration of a second level domain name, a written request should be sent to AGIP.

4.4.2 Deleted entries of second level domain names shall become available for reuse by other applicants.
