FAQ


- Books, computer software, and other written material.
Works that are presented orally such as lecturers and religious sermons.
- Theatrical compositions and musical plays.
- Musical compilations, whether or not accompanied by lyrics.
- Works which are designs of dances and mime.
- Audio works and audio-visual works.
- Works of drawing and painting using lines and colors.
- Architecture, sculpture, decorative arts, and engraving.
- Works of applied arts, whether as handicraft or industrial work.
- Illustrative drawing, geographical maps, designs, diagrams, and three-dimensional work related to geography, topography, architecture, and science.
- Folklore.
- The title of the work if the title is distinctive in an innovative manner and not just a common term used to give an indication of the subject of the work.


A) Author’s lifetime + 70 years starting from the beginning of the first calendar year following
his death.
70 years from the first year following the death of the last author in the case of common works.
95 years as from the date of first publication in case of:
Audio-visual, collective, applied artworks.
& Works published under a pseudonym or without the mention of the name of the author unless the identity of the author becomes known during this period.


Imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years and fine not exceeding RO.2000, or either of these two sentences.


Protection will not cover the following:
- International treaties, judicial decisions, and the groups of official documents as well as their official translation.
- Published, broadcasted, or publicly announced the news.
- Works that have fallen into the public domain.


It will not have a legal effect on others.


•If the work is a book, look for a copyright page. It is typically found on the back side of the title page. In older works, it may be on the title page or on the last page of the book.
•If the work is a film or a television show, the copyright is usually included at the end of the credits. If you have a physical copy of a DVD or tape, the label or package may have a copyright notice.
•If the work is a cassette, CD, or LP, look for a reference to the copyright on the label or packaging. It may include a "circle-P" mark for "phonograph copyright".
•If the work is a magazine, the copyright will likely be found near the Table of Contents at the beginning of an issue.
•If the work is a digital photograph, the copyright will be indicated by a tag. If it is a print photograph, the copyright will be on the back of the image.


You may contact the infringer to stop the use of your mark by sending a cease and desist letter. If they do not comply, the matter can be escalated to court through a trademark infringement case. You can claim damages or accounts of profits if they financially benefited from your trademark 


The owner may be entitled to file an infringement action against you.


We can use the picture if we obtain a letter of consent from the owner, and we can use the quotes by remarking that the same is quoted with mentioning its resources.
