Absolute novelty. Any disclosure. Yet, disclosure to the public shall not be taken into consideration, if the disclosure occurred within twelve months preceding the date of filing or the priority date if such disclosure was a result of an act committed by the applicant, or of an unlawful act committed by a third party against the applicant.


Yes, the priority can be claimed in Jordan within six months, calculated from the day following the date of filing of the first application.


It is allowed to  file multiple designs in one application, but at the time of examination, we will be asked to divide the application into separate ones.


Yes, several extensions can be requested, two months for each.


Approximately 4 months, if all the required documents have been submitted within 2 months.


The term of industrial design protection is 15 years starting from the date of filing the application or the priority date (if claimed), and can't be extended.


– Industrial Design: Any composition or arrangement of lines, which gives the product a special appearance and appeal, whether by industry or handicraft, including textile designs.

– Industrial Model: A three-dimensional form, whether associated with lines or colors or not, which gives a special appearance, that may be used for industry or handicraft.


Industrial designs or models dictated by technical or functional considerations may not be registered.


3D marks are not applicable in Jordan, so filing a design is the alternative option.
