A subdomain is an additional part of your main domain name. Subdomains are created to organize and navigate to different sections of your website and the registration rules differ according to the domain name type.


There are no symbols that can be a part of the domain name in Egypt.


The domain name must begin with a letter or number (A-Z) (0-9) and there is no space between the letters of the name to be registered.
It is allowed to register a domain name with a minimum of two characters.
The name of the domain to be registered must be quoted from the name of the entity or the nature of its work, otherwise, it is a generic name, and the registrar must submit proof of that.
In the case of registering names for trademarks, proof of the ownership of the registered entity for this name or trademark must be submitted and documented by the concerned ministry or entity.
It is prohibited to use the names of prophets, messengers, religious symbols, countries, cities, or legal persons.


The domain name is the name of the website and a URL is used to find a particular web page.


If there is an intention to proceed with filing .eg domain name, The owner of the trademark shall make sure that the trademark is registered and the Registration Certificate is already existing.
If there is an intention to proceed with filing .com.eg domain name the said domain shall be quoted from the name of the entity or to submit any documents which proof that the relation between the domain and the entity name.


A country-code domain name is used to define the domain for a particular country or a geographical area.
A domain name with a country code may be more appealing to local visitors.
