Jordan is a member of the UPOV convention.
The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture is not an examination body, and once the application has been filed in Jordan, the registrar usually asks us to pay the examination fees (checking the application particulars and its online equivalent status, and its requirements, as well as forming a committee).

The protection period is twenty years beginning from the date of filing of an application for registration. As for trees and vines, the protection period shall be for twenty-five years.

Annuity fees are required and paid for registered plant varieties only, and it’s yearly renewal fees must be paid at the beginning of each calendar year (between January 01 till March 31 each year), and no extension can be  granted in respect of the annuity.
