Domain name is an internet address of a state administrator, person, business entity, and/or society that can be used for communication over the internet, in the form of unique character code or set to identify a certain location on the internet.
Registration of domain name is based on first come first serve and there is no substantive examination.
Domain name ownership shall be based on good faith, non-violation of fair business competition, and not infringe other party’s rights.
Application for domain name registration shall be filed through Domain Name Registrar. The Registrar shall be accredited in PANDI as the Registry in Indonesia.
Type of domain name in Indonesia:
- Indonesia generic Top-Level Domain (e.g: .nusantara, .java);
- Indonesia Top-Level Domain (.id);
- Second-Level Domain (co.id, go.id, ac.id, or.id, mil.id);
- Third-Level Domain (e.g: kominfo.go.id).
Domain name is available to be assigned if the following requirement is met:
a. Passed sixty (60) days since activation date;
b. No less than ten (10) days before Domain Name utilization term ends;
c. The assignee fulfills their Domain Name utilization requirements according to its purpose;
d. The assignee is incumbent to verify the said requirement;
e. Under permanent legal force of Court Verdict;
f. On recommendation of Domain Name Dispute Policy.
