Filing Requirements
Trademark/Service Mark/Collective Mark Applications

*A power of attorney signed, stamped by the applicant company’s stamp and legalized up to the Libyan consulate in the applicant home country (a proper form is enclosed).One Power of Attorney can be used for filing any number

of applications in the name of the same owner.

*An extract from the commercial registry or certificate of incorporation in the name of the applicant duly legalized up to the Libyan consulate.

Special note: All above required documents have to be submitted along with Certified Arabic Translation.

Time Frame

• A trademark registration is valid for ten years from the date of filing the trademark application.

The following documents and information are required for filing a trademark application in Libya with claiming priority :

Special note: we kindly ask you to send us the instructions before five days from the priority deadline.

Simply signed Power of Attorney, after filing the trademark the original legalized copy must follow after one month by return courier.

Copy from the Commercial Extract, after filing the trademark the original legalized copy must follow after one month by return courier.

Certified priority document along with certified Arabic Translation, after filing the trademark the original certified copy must follow after one month by return courier.

All above mentioned documents must be submitted along with Certified Arabic Translation.

Merger/ Assignment Requirements:

Power of Attorney in the new name duly legalized up to Libyan consulate

Document proving the change duly legalized up to Libyan consulate such as deed of assignment or merger document.

Certificate of incorporation or extract from commercial registry for the new entity duly legalized up to Libyan consulate

All documents must be legalized up to Libyan consulate and submitted along with its certified Arabic translation

Change of Name/Address Requirements:

Power of Attorney in the new name or address duly legalized up to Libyan consulate 

Document proving the change duly legalized up to Libyan consulate.

Certificate of incorporation or extract from commercial registry for the new legal entity duly legalized up to Libyan consulate

All documents must be submitted along with its certified Arabic translation .
